St. John's homeowner wakes up to burglar in bedroom

A St. John's homeowner got a rude awakening early Saturday morning when an unknown person entered a bedroom while residents were sleeping.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and K9 Services are investigating the break and enter, which happened after 5 a.m. Saturday morning in the Elizabeth Avenue area.

According to a police statement, the suspect quickly fled the scene after the homeowner woke up and discovered the alleged burglar in the bedroom.

No one was injured in the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
