Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Scanlon has landed her very own show.

The star has confirmed she’s soon set to start a new role at Virgin Radio UK as the station’s weekend breakfast presenter.

Scanlon will be bursting onto the airwaves later this month, taking over the 7am to 10am slot on Saturdays and Sundays.

Sharing her excitement to begin the new job, the Strictly star said: "I know how many of you have dreamt about waking up to my husky dulcet tones, well dreams come true gang.

"I’ll be getting up with you every weekend on Virgin Radio and I am inappropriately excited. Stick the kettle on!"

This news comes after Graham Norton recently announced he'd be stepping down from his early morning radio show at the station.

However, Scanlon is not the only new face joining the Virgin Radio as former kids TV presenters Dick and Dom have also been lined-up for a new weekend show.

"We’re back on the weekends!" The double act enthused in a joint statement. "As genuine long-term listeners and lovers of Virgin Radio we’re over the moon to be joining the team.

"We both started our journeys in local radio so it’s great to be back behind the mic. Nice to have upgraded from a bungalow to studios at the top of the tower."

The duo will be broadcasting Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm.

The Virgin Radio newcomers received high praise from the station’s Content Director, Mike Cass, as he celebrated the announcement.

"We’ve had a lot of great listener feedback on Angela Scanlon as well as Dick and Dom when they’ve covered," he said. "I’m delighted they’re now a permanent addition to the weekend line-up."

The broadcaster also confirmed other weekend schedule changes, including new time slots for comedians and Virgin Radio regulars Leigh Francis and Tom Allen.

Angela Scanlon's Virgin Radio Breakfast Show will air Saturdays and Sundays 7-10am, starting April 27.
