Strictly Come Dancing star Graziano Di Prima and his wife Giada have addressed the show's "curse" in a new relationship update.

Speaking to OK! ahead of Graziano's return to the Strictly ballroom later this year, the couple explained that any job requires partners to have trust in each other.

"The 'curse' is in every job," said Giada. "It could happen in an office or a bar. I think the most important thing is trusting the person."

Graziano, who has appeared on the dancing show since 2018, added: "We do the same job – we are professional dancers.

"We respect each other and have principles, and we try to share everything we are going through in the season with each other. Giada is my best friend, she knows everything. When you don't want to do things in the wrong way, you never even think of it."

The dancing duo first started dating in 2014, before Graziano popped the question during a live performance of Burn the Floor in 2019.

In 2022, the couple got married in a romantic Sicilian ceremony after their original wedding plans were delayed twice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Elsewhere in the interview, Graziano discussed the next steps in his relationship and shared his hopes of finding the "right time" to start a family.

"We are both dancers, and I always say to my wife, when she feels ready I am always here to support her," he explained.

"We have to find the right time in our lives to do it. Of course, we want a family in the future, absolutely."

Giada added: "We both want a family. I think it's a little bit different with our work, especially for us ladies. We have to stop our careers and our bodies change. You have to be ready 100% to dedicate all of yourself to this, and then hope you can come back."

Strictly's 20th series is set to return this autumn, with head judge Shirley Ballas recently teasing that the celebrity lineup is going to be "absolutely off the chart".

No new dancers are joining the show, but the 2024 series will see the anticipated return of long-standing cast member Amy Dowden, who missed last year's series after being diagnosed with breast cancer and receiving treatment.

Giovanni Pernice is the only dancer not to be returning for the upcoming series amid reports of an internal inquiry at the BBC, following complaints about his behaviour during show training.

The professional dancer has strongly denied the allegations, rejecting "any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour".

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
