Summer season begins at local pools

The Ridgetown Howard Community Pool begins its summer season this week with free afternoon and evening swims.

As a part of CKRecreation’s Summerfest, free swims at the Ridgetown pool will take place afternoons Sunday through Friday, from 1:30-4 p.m., and evenings Monday through Friday, 6-7 p.m. during July and ending August 24.

CKRecreation offers free rec swims all summer at seven outdoor and two indoor Municipal pools.Summer pool schedules are available online at www.chatham-kent.ca/pools

SummerFest also includes Party In The Park, with visits to eight locations in six communities.

Party In The Park comes to Ridgetown’s Kiwanis Park on Thursday, August 1.

The CKRec team will be on hand from 5 to 7 p.m. to lead kids in crafts, activities, and games, followed by a free swim.

Party In The Park will also visit Blenheim Memorial Park on Thursday, July 11, and Thamesville’s Ferguson Park on Thursday, August 15.

As part of the SummerFest series, CKRec’s Summer Squad will host beach days in Erieau and Mitchell’s Bay every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout July and August.

The Summer Squad will run activities with many beach toys and activities for kids.

SummerFest also includes Play Rangers at Kingston Park in Chatham every Saturday throughout July and August from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
