Suspect in Mount Pearl armed robbery gets away on foot

Police in Mount Pearl said its K-9 unit was unable to locate a male suspect who attempted to rob a Subway restaurant in Mount Pearl early Saturday morning.

According to RNC, around 1:30 a.m., a man attempted to enter the business on Commonwealth Avenue and was let inside by the lone female store clerk.

The man then pulled a disguise over his face and demanded cash. Police said he stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled the area on foot.

The K-9 Unit and Forensic Identification Section were called in to search for the man but, as of yet, no arrests have been made.

Police said no injuries were reported in the incident and the matter has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Division.

RNC have not disclosed what type of weapon was used in the incident.
