Fresh off wearing more outfits than anyone could keep track of during her Anyone But You promotional tour, Sydney Sweeney is back on the Met steps for her third Met Gala. Already a vet on the red carpet—not to mention someone who has made fashion history by wearing some iconic looks—she arrived at this year's gala looking totally unrecognizable with a black bob.

When it came to her dress, Sweeney went full princess in a Cinderella-blue tulle ballgown with turquoise-and-black floral appliqués and an asymmetric off-the-shoulder detail. However, things took a dark turn with black leather opera gloves and a jet-black bob with eye-skimming fringe. A black winged liner also added to the edgy details, though she finished off the ensemble with a diamond choker and drop earrings fit for royalty. Although the new 'do is likely a wig, Sweeney is no stranger to a bob. She debuted a new chop earlier this year during Paris Fashion Week.

In 2023, Sweeney cemented her It Girl status when she arrived at fashion's biggest night in head-to-toe Miu Miu. She became one of the brand's ambassadors just a year earlier. Her gown included elaborate beading and she topped off the look with a larger-than-life hair bow that mirrored ones on her skirt—and it was all perfectly in line with the coquette trend.

“I've dreamt of being a Miu Miu girl from the moment I started learning and being introduced to fashion,” the actress told Vogue when her campaign for the Wander bag dropped. “Miu Miu was one of the first fashion shows that my stylist showed me on Vogue Runway, and I was obsessed.”

A year prior, the Euphoria star wore a Tory Burch gown and offered up a wardrobe change on the carpet. She arrived in an over-the-top Cinderella-style ball gown with a structured corset bodice but later removed the skirt to reveal a shorter mini. Ahead of the event, she explained how excited she was to attend her first Met Gala, saying, "It's a rite of passage. I've always seen the Met on TV or in pictures, and I never knew if I'd be able to touch that world. Now I am, and it's amazing."
