Tarrant Appraisal District says it is victim of ransomware attack following website crash
The Tarrant Appraisal District said Friday that it had been the victim of a criminal ransomware attack.
“We have reported this incident to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Texas Department of Information Resources and will cooperate with any resulting investigation,” the agency said in a press release.
After the TAD’s website crashed last week, the agency launched its revamped one. That one crashed on Thursday.
Our investigation is ongoing and we are working diligently with our retained experts to safely and securely restore operations. We have a meeting scheduled with our Board of Directors on Monday, March 25, 2024, and will provide an update following that meeting.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
