Technical issue grounds Virgin Atlantic flight in Goose Bay

A Virgin Atlantic pilot brought a plane down at the Goose Bay airport on Tuesday, following a "technical issue" with the aircraft.

Virgin Atlantic Flight 19 was diverted to Goose Bay on Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson with the company confirmed.

The flight from London to San Francisco was diverted when the pilot "requested a priority landing" as a precaution, following what the airline is calling a "technical issue."

Lisette Kwong, a spokesperson with Virgin Atlantic, said the company will send another plane to Goose Bay on Tuesday so that the affected passengers can continue their travels.

Kwong said that the company was looking into the airplane issue.

"We would like to apologize to customers for the delay to their journey, and are working hard to ensure they can continue as soon as possible," she wrote.
