'Teen Mom' Alum Kailyn Lowry Says Doctor Won't Give Her Breast Implants Until She Loses 50 Lbs.: 'Extremely Humbling'
The 'Teen Mom' alum, 32, said she wanted plastic surgery but doctors say she needs to lose weight first
Kailyn Lowry is sharing some hard truths from her doctor.
The mom of seven, 32, said she was told by her doctor that she needed to lose 50 lbs. in order to get breast implants. The conversation happened over the phone during a plastic surgery consult, she told fans on the latest episode of the Barely Famous podcast, released on May 17.
“I want to get a boob job, right? I call around. I’m making these consultations to get a boob job. You know what they told me? They told me I need to lose 40 pounds," Lowry said. “So 40 or 50 pounds, more like 50 but maybe get away with 40 pounds, before they can even operate on me.”
The former Teen Mom star said the experience was “extremely humbling” and emotional.
“I’ve been wanting to do this breast reduction, implants, lift, whatever it is,” Lowry continued. “She was like, ‘Do you still want to schedule this?’ I’m literally sobbing. Already the water works have started.”

Lowry went ahead with the consultation for the surgery even though, she admitted, she has not been prioritizing fitness lately.
“I don’t even know if I can get my double chin done,” she said. “Truthfully, I’d want to do that at the same time as my boob job because why would I pay for anesthesia twice?”
On Monday, May 20, Lowry clarified her comments in an Instagram post. She said that she was actually told her “BMI is entirely too high to operate 🥲 so when I did the math it comes down to needing to lose between 40-50 lbs.”
Her candid comments comes after sharing her desire to get on Ozempic back in January.
Speaking on her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast at the time, Lowry discussed "how hard it is to lose weight as an adult" and that she would like to try the type 2 diabetes prescription medication, which has become a popular weight-loss aid in Hollywood.
"How hard it is to lose weight as an adult, f--- my life. I'm scared," Lowry, who gave birth to twins in late 2023, shared. "I'm ready for 2024 because I need to get Ozempic shots or something."

The mom of seven added that having a "mommy makeover" was the "best decision I ever made," though she wished she'd waited until she was finished having children.
"I maintained the f--- out of it until I got pregnant with Lux," Lowry said. "I was in the gym 5 days a week. If you're gonna get plastic surgery, you have to maintain it ... it's a jump start to a lifestyle change."
