Things to do this weekend: RV show, art, sledding and party like it’s the ’80s

Pick out a new RV (or just tour one and dream). Go to an art opening. Catch a musical. Sled down a hill.

All of these activities and more are on the entertainment calendar this weekend in Wichita. Here are the details:

RV Show

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Century II Convention Hall, 225 W. Douglas

If you’ve ever dreamed of traveling the country in an RV, this weekend’s Greater Kansas RV Show at the Century II Convention Hall should offer hours of entertainment. The show, which continues Friday through Sunday, will allow visitors to tour RVs from companies like Jayco, KZ, Grand Design and more. It runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $8 for ages 14 and up and free for ages 13 and under at selectaseat.com.

12 Squared art invitational

6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Gallery 12, 412 E. Douglas

Gallery 12’s annual “12 Squared” show, which this year features artwork in a 12x12 format submitted by a record 83 local artists, will open at a reception set for 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery. The invitational show, juried by local painter Brian Hinkle, will distribute awards at 7 p.m. After that, it will be on view from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and visitors are asked to vote for a “People’s Choice” winner. Admission is free.

Couples comedy

7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, Century II’s Mary Jane Teall Theater, 225 W. Douglas

The off-Broadway comedy “Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE!” is a one-man comedy show starring Amadeo Fusca that is coming to Wichita’s Century II on Thursday. It’s based on the best-selling book of the same name written by John Gray, and it’s for adults only. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $58 at selectaseat.com

Snow Glow

6-9 p.m. Friday, Mid-America All-Indian Center, 650 N. Seneca

A night of sledding and music, which was postponed because of weather, is back on for Friday night and will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum. In addition to sledding, it will feature music by DJ Karetaker, an LED light show, food trucks and man-made snow by Snow Bros Snowmakers. Visitors should bring a non-metal sled, and they must pre-register at https://www.facebook.com/events/1216780125631761. Tickets are $10 for ages 6 and older.

‘Catch Me If You Can’

7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, Friends University Sebits Auditorium, 2100 W. University

Friends University’s Choral Department is putting on “Catch Me If You Can,” a musical comedy based on the hit Steven Spielberg film from 2002. The musical version of the show, created by Terrance McNally, earned four Tony awards. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Friends’ Sebits Auditorium. Back to the ’80s

9 p.m. Friday, Wave, 650 E. Second

Take a time machine to the 1980s this weekend with Wave’s Back to the 80’s party featuring music by DJ Merlin Brando. Attendees are encouraged to get dressed up in their best neon, legwarmers, parachute pants, etc. from the 1980s and dance to music from the decade. The evening will include a costume contest. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the party, which is open to ages 21 and older. Tickets are $5 at waveict.com
