This $11 Walmart candle smells like a $200 perfume that Rihanna and Olivia Rodrigo adore

Rihanna and Olivia Rodrigo are fans of the luxury scent — but we're bigger fans of saving big.

There's no shortage of candles on store shelves, and if we're being honest, it's not difficult to find one that smells halfway decent. So why did this Better Homes & Gardens Amber & Saffron Candle go viral? According to social media users and Walmart shoppers, it's because it smells like a pricey luxury scent: Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, beloved by celebs including Rihanna and Olivia Rodrigo. But while the perfume retails from $205 up to $645 for the largest size (eek!), the bestselling Walmart candle will set you back a whopping $11. Pretty intriguing!

This chic candle only smells expensive — at just $11, you can buy one for every room.

Pros
  • Has a warm, musky scent
  • Double-wick design promotes longer burn time
  • Comes in a sleek glass jar with a wooden lid
Cons
  • Some reviewers say they still experienced uneven burning

"Imagine your whole house smelling like Baccarat Rouge 540," said one TikToker. A Walmart fan wrote, "The Amber & Saffron scent smells a lot like Baccarat. It smells sooooooo pretty!"

So, just what does this sought-after scent evoke? As far as the perfume is concerned: "Breezy jasmine facets [and] radiant saffron boost the ambergris mineral notes and the woody tones of freshly-cut cedar," the brand says. The candle lists notes of amber, almond, jasmine, saffron, cedarwood and santal. It's on the warmer, muskier side, so if you appreciate cozy, welcoming scents, this one might be right up your alley.

Aromatics aside, the candle comes in an ombre red-tinted glass jar that's topped with a wooden lid, making it an attractive accessory for any room. Plus, its double-wick design means a longer burn time and helps prevent tunneling.

Hundreds of Walmart customers love the Better Homes & Gardens Amber & Saffron Candle, even without making the Baccarat connection.

"Great scent that is warm and cozy and adds depth to a room without being too overpowering," raved one buyer. "Leaving the top off, even without burning it too much, leaves the room smelling great."

"With its double wick, this candle can last for hours," shared another impressed reviewer. "This has such a beautiful scent that flowed throughout my kitchen/living room area without being too strong of a smell (I suffer from migraines and it didn't bother me)."

"This candle smells amazing!" exclaimed a final shopper. "It's really fragrant, even when not lit ... I love the decorative wood top." Their one qualm? "I was disappointed by the way it burned. I assumed the double wick would aid in even melting across the top better than a single wick, but it did not, even after burning it for a length of time."

Psst: Mother's Day is just around the corner, so if you need a gift ... hint, hint.

Another viral Walmart find? This stylish bubble planter.

The "bubble" shape is on trend right now, plus, there are so many things you can do with this container — use it as a planter or vase, or even to hold kitchen utensils or candles.

"The planter is so cute!" exclaimed a reviewer. "It's thick ceramic, not thin, fragile and easily broken. The texture is smooth and beautiful. The bottom is solid, but it does have a removable plug for water to drain if you use it for live plants."
