'Tiny house' being built in Cape Breton for Ottawa couple

Nicky Duenkel and Judy Pratt were looking for a retirement home, but it had to meet certain requirements.

There had to be a full-size kitchen because they both love to cook, it had to accommodate their aging corgi and it had to have a very small footprint, environmentally and physically.

The Ottawa couple decided on a "tiny house." And for several months now, contractor Matthew Willox has been building them one in a Sydney-area driveway.

Duenkel and Pratt are from Ottawa and spoke with Wendy Bergfeldt of CBC Cape Breton's Mainstreet.

The couple originally intended to have the tiny house moved to Montreal once complete, but may be reconsidering their retirement spot after spending so much time in Cape Breton.
