The couple invited Tom to their wedding reception, but the actor had to decline because he had dinner plans. He did inform Elizabeth and Ryan that had their officiant bailed on his duties he could have legally married the pair as he is an ordained minister. Back in 2015, Tom officiated the wedding of actress Allison Williams and Ricky Van Veen.

This is not the first time that the Sully actor crashed wedding festivities. In 1993, while filming Forrest Gump in Beaufort, South Carolina, the actor reportedly spotted bride Mary Dunning Chapman on her way to walk down the aisle. Mary later recalled the meeting to Beaufort Online, saying:

“My bridesmaids and I were walking around the side of the church getting ready to ‘walk down the aisle’ ... and this guy runs up to me! He says, “Hey, I’m Tom Hanks, and I just wanted to say good luck!” He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek!!"
