Tom Schwartz began dating his girlfriend, Sophia Skoro, who is nearly 20 years his junior, in late 2023

Tom Schwartz is back off the market.

The Vanderpump Rules star started dating his girlfriend, Sophia Skoro, in December 2023, nearly two years after splitting from his ex-wife and costar Katie Maloney in March 2022. The 23-year-old is 18 years younger than Schwartz, but the age gap hasn’t bothered either of them.

"She's just really effing cool! She's charismatic and clever and kind of unconventionally funny," Schwartz said in an April 2024 interview with Access Hollywood. "She's way cooler than me."

He added that Skoro had met members of the Vanderpump cast including Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, Tom Sandoval and Scheana Shay and had bonded with all of them.

"She gets along great with everybody. That's one of my favorite things about her," Schwartz said. "I introduce her to people, and she's so genuine and instantly makes a connection with people. She's very gregarious."

She graduated from college in 2022

Skoro graduated from the University of Oregon in June 2022 with a degree in marketing, per her LinkedIn. She moved from Portland to Los Angeles shortly after where she began a career in marketing at Publicis.

She is a marketing manager and strategist

Skoro started working at Publicis as an associate media planner in December 2022 and continues to work there now. Her main client is TikTok and she helps plan campaigns and strategize for the digital investment team, per her LinkedIn.

In addition to her full-time job, Skoro also runs a vintage clothing store called Shop Sosko.

They met at Schwartz’s bar TomTom

During an April 2024 appearance on Nick Viall’s The Viall Files podcast, Schwartz shared that Skoro made the first move when she met him at his bar, TomTom, in the summer of 2023.

"I was like, 'He's looking hot,' so I just told him," Skoro said. "I simply just told him, and that was it."

Schwartz admitted that he got so nervous he even left the bar. "I was with Kyle Chan and I told him, 'I just met the most beautiful human being I've ever laid eyes on,' but I had no intentions of going back," he recalled. "And Kyle literally dragged me back to TomTom."

After talking and exchanging numbers, the two didn’t hang out for some time but after they went on a dinner date, Schwartz “couldn’t get away from” Skoro, she said.

They teased their relationship on social media before confirming it

Throughout early 2024, fans noticed that Schwartz was spending time with Skoro and began to question the nature of their relationship. The shop owner posted a TikTok of herself in a hotel room with Schwartz in March 2024 after another video the month prior of them in a car together.

"I would say I'm not not dating," Schwartz shared in a February episode of Watch What Happens Live. "I'm hanging out, it's new, it's exciting."

They don’t mind their 18-year age gap

Though people were quick to point out that Skoro is 18 years younger than Schwartz, the Schwartz & Sandy’s owner said it doesn’t bother him.

"Honestly, if I was a lecherous old man trolling bars, like, seeking out young women, I think that would feel gross,” Schwartz shared in The Viall Files podcast. “But we just kind of bumped into each other. We hit it off."

He added that he felt “defensive” when people judged their age gap, stating that he doesn’t like when “they strip away a woman's agency.”

They are taking their relationship slow

While their relationship has taken off, Schwartz said that the couple were taking their time as they’re enjoying getting to know each other.

"I'm happy. It's kind of new and exciting, and I kind of feel at peace for the first time in a long time," Schwartz told Access Hollywood. "It's been really pleasant ... She's just a badass human being."

When asked whether she was the “one,” Schwartz said that they were taking it slow for now.

"I'm just taking it day by day right now, but I really enjoy her company. We just started [dating], but we've known each other for kind of a while now," he said. "I don't know. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm happy and at peace with her right now."
