Tory candidate chosen for Commissioner election
The Conservative Party has selected its new candidate for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) election after its previous one stepped down.
Stephen Mold, who is the current PFCC for Northamptonshire, announced he would not seek re-election earlier this month.
New candidate, Martyn Emberson, served in the county's fire and rescue service for nine years and then became chief inspector of the Scottish Fire service.
Last summer, Danielle Stone was selected for the Labour Party and last month, the Liberal Democrats announced Ana Savage Gunn would be its candidate for the 2 May election.
Mr Mold had been selected as the Conservative candidate last year.
But after making misogynistic comments at a meeting with firefighters about the county's incoming chief fire officer, he said he would not stand again.
In a statement, he said he had made a "significant mistake" and had decided to "do the right thing".
Any other candidates have until 4 April to declare their nomination.
