TransLink bus hits woman in Maple Ridge, B.C.

A woman was hit by a TransLink bus in Maple Ridge, B.C.

The accident caused the woman to be wedged under the bus. Firefighters were quickly able to free her when they arrived.

The woman was taken to hospital with a broken leg, say RCMP.

The incident happened at about 6:15 p.m. at Dunn Avenue and Maple Meadows Way.

The bus was operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company, the company that runs most of TransLink's buses.

This is the second time a pedestrian has been struck by a TransLink bus this week.

On Wednesday, a 24-year-old pedestrian was hit on the Fraser Highway in Surrey, B.C.

The man was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
