PinkPantheress has to cancel Rolling Loud appearance in Miami

Pop singer-songwriter PinkPantheress had been among the acts added to the Rolling Loud lineup – punk rock band Turnstile included – to expand the musical offerings. But the singer, who has the song "Angel" on the "Barbie" soundtrack, released a statement Friday saying she had to cancel that night's appearance "to preserve my quality of hearing. PinkPantheress revealed last year she had 80% hearing loss in her right ear.

“It is with great regret that I have to cancel my festival appearances this weekend at Rolling Loud and Capitol Hill Block," she said in a statement provided by Rolling Loud Miami. "I have been advised by Doctors and my team to take a break from performances in order to preserve my quality of hearing. I am so devastated that I am not able to perform but I am doing everything in my power to get better so I can continue to do what I love. I hope to return to the US sooner rather than later! Thank you for all your well wishes and understanding.”

The musician's loss of hearing "happened gradually," she told the BBC last year. "I told myself that, whatever happens, you still have another good working ear. As long as you protect that, you're going to be fine."

In June, the musician cancelled a performance at the Primavera Festival in Spain due to "partial hearing loss," she said on Twitter. "In order to be back on stage again, i need time to heal," she tweeted.
