Maria G. Ramos de Mendoza, 86, of Kennewick, died Oct. 24 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

She was born in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 12 years.

She was a homemaker.

Denis Walter Austin Jr., 75, of Kennewick, died Oct. 22 in Richland.

He is the former Pasco police chief and lived in the Tri-Cities for 28 years.

Carl L. Wheeler, Jr

Carl Lewis Wheeler, Jr, 83, of Richland, died Oct. 23 in Richland.

He was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and lived in the Tri-Cities area for 56 years.

He was a retired nuclear engineer for Battelle and Numerical Applications.

Mary Frances Lint, 73, of Kennewick, died Oct. 22 in Kennewick.

She was born in Walla Walla and lived in the Tri-Cities for 14 years.

She was a retired accountant.

Jerry Earl Cargo, 82, of Pasco, died Oct. 23 in Kennewick.

He was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and lived in the Tri-Cities for 58 years.

He was a retired plant supervisor at Welch’s Grape Juice.

She was born in Vancouver, Wash., and lived in the Tri-Cities for 55 years.
