Tributes paid to police officer killed in crash
Tributes have been paid to a "super hero daddy" and serving police officer who died in a road crash.
Acting Sgt Reece Buckenham, 36, was on a motorcycle involved in a collision with a VW Golf on Saturday at 07:00 BST, on the A10 between Rush Green and Great Amwell in Hertfordshire.
Sgt Buckenham had just finished a night shift when the accident happened, his family said.
"The world will be a darker place without his smile," his family added.
'Much-respected'
Sgt Buckenham was described as a “a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and colleague" and a "wonderful father" to his two children.
"Reece loved having a laugh and was fun to be around, he would light up any room with his smile and infectious personality," his family said.
"He was fiercely protective of those he cared for and would stand up for those that needed support, be that friends, colleagues or just anyone that needed Reece."
They said he was proud to be a police officer and that they "couldn't have been prouder of him".
"We will never fill the void that is now in our family," they said.
"Reece, our son, brother and super hero daddy, we love you."
Hertfordshire Police Chief Constable Charlie Hall said he was a "much-respected colleague to so many and his death has been felt hugely throughout the force".
Hertfordshire Police is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
