We tried the new Chick-fil-A express drive-thru in Gulfport. Here’s how it went.

There’s a new way to get your Chick-fil-A fix in South Mississippi.

Chicken on Pass is a new express Chick-fil-A and just opened this month on Pass Road. The restaurant is drive-thru only and is open on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chicken on Pass offers a limited menu, but a quick way for residents of South Gulfport to get their fix without fighting the traffic and wait times often found at the standalone CFA located on Highway 49 near the interstate.

The express CFA is located inside the Bridal and Formal Boutique & House of Tux building, which is great news for those hoping to knock out a tuxedo rental and lunch at the same time.

If you’re like me and didn’t know exactly what you were looking for, you might drive right on by. You might even do it twice.

There are two small signs near the road that serve as the only indications that the bridal boutique is also home to delicious chicken sandwiches.

Once you locate it, it’s pretty straightforward. You drive along the east side of the building and place your order at the window.

On the menu are the classic and spicy chicken sandwiches, a cool wrap and a cobb salad. The big omissions from the regular menu are the chicken nuggets and waffle fries.

The food was served quickly and with great service. I definitely caught the vibe the person at the window would Bruno Mars themselves onto a grenade for me if it came to that, so pretty much on par with my other CFA experiences.

If you work or live on the southern side of town and need a salad with a six-pack of chocolate chip cookies, Chicken on Pass will be there for you.
