Trisha Yearwood to Receive June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award at 2024 CMT Music Awards (Exclusive)
Yearwood will also deliver the debut performance of her new single "Put It in a Song" at the awards show on April 7
Trisha Yearwood has received honors for her work in both music and culinary spaces. Now, she's earning an award for her impact on others as a human.
The Grammy and Emmy winner will receive the first-ever June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on April 7 at the Moody Center in Austin, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.
"Trisha has a unique ability to rally a community, whether that may be families in need with Habitat for Humanity, or uplifting her fellow artists and entertainers trying to carve a path in the industry," wrote the awards show's executive producers in a statement.

The award is inspired by June Carter Cash, who worked for several charities, such as SOS Children's Villages in Austria, throughout her life. According to the CMT Music Awards' executive producers, Yearwood "embodies the bold strength of June, who tirelessly devoted herself to service and community, and the namesake for this award."
"Both multi-hyphenate trailblazers eloquently crafted a script for others to model, letting their hearts and authenticity guide their personal, professional and public lives," concluded the statement.
In addition to Habitat for Humanity, Yearwood's launched the animal rescue-focused charity Dottie's Yard and worked with organizations including the Carter Work Project, National Women Build Week, Stanford Women’s Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, Humane Society, Grammy Foundation MusiCares, Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential, Starkey Hearing Foundation and Susan B. Komen Foundation, among others.

During the 2024 CMT Music Awards, Yearwood will also deliver the debut live performance of her new single "Put It in a Song," marking her first time on the awards show stage since 2019. Co-written by the "She's in Love with the Boy" singer, the new song will appear on her forthcoming album.
The musician and her husband, Garth Brooks, currently appear on the Prime Video docuseries Friends in Low Places, which chronicles the opening of their Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk in Nashville.
Nominations for the 2024 CMT Music Awards were announced earlier this month. Top nominees include Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney with three each.

First-time nominees include Amber Riley, Ashley Cooke, Bret Michaels, Chayce Beckham, Hozier, Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders and Zach Bryan.
Video of the year, the the night's most coveted category, features 16 nominees, including Kacey Musgraves, Darius Rucker, Mickey Guyton, Brothers Osborne and more.
The top six nominees from the first round of voting will be announced on April 1. The final three nominees, from the second round of voting, will be announced on show day.
