Truck fire closes westbound lanes of 401 in Oshawa

A truck fire closed the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Oshawa for hours on Monday morning.

A portion of Highway 401 remains closed in Oshawa after an early morning truck fire.

Two cars and a tractor trailer were involved in a collision at about 4 a.m. Three people were treated for non-life threatening injuries after the crash.

The ensuing truck fire resulted in the closure of the westbound lanes of the highway between Simcoe Street and Harmony Road.

At about 7:30 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police tweeted that highway would remain closed at Harmony Road for about three hours.
