TSX falls 0.09 percent to 16,216.26

- The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX fell 14.70 points, or 0.09 percent, to 16,216.26.

- Leading the index were Hudson's Bay Co, up 42.4 percent, Cronos Group Inc, up 9.2 percent, and Enghouse Systems Ltd, higher by 5.4 percent.

- Lagging shares were Kelt Exploration Ltd, down 6.6 percent, Nexgen Energy Ltd, down 5.8 percent, and Alacer Gold Corp, lower by 5.1 percent.

- On the TSX 110 issues rose and 126 fell as a 0.9-to-1 ratio favored decliners. There were 9 new highs and 6 new lows, with total volume of 172.0 million shares.

- The most heavily traded shares by volume were Encana Corp, Bombardier Inc and Cenovus Energy Inc.

- The TSX's energy group fell 0.76 points, or 0.5 percent, while the financials sector climbed 0.09 points, or 0.0 percent.

- West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 1.2 percent, or $0.65, to $53.34 a barrel. Brent crude fell 1.55 percent, or $0.98, to $62.31

- The TSX is up 13.2 percent for the year.
