Tuktoyaktuk, N.W.T., man arrested in connection with luring child over internet
Charges for extortion and luring a child are pending against a 35-year-old man from Tuktoyakuk, N.W.T., say RCMP.
Police arrested the man at his home on Tuesday after executing a search warrant.
They say the arrest is part of an investigation which began in March.
Police say they have identified at least five other victims. All were approached through social media.
Tuktoyaktuk RCMP, the N.W.T. RCMP's Major Crimes Unit, Saskatchewan RCMP's Technology Crime Unit, as well as officers from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit are working on the investigation.
The accused was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
