Two Canadian Brothers And An Eagle Star In The Greatest Selfie Of 2015

If you think we have reached peak selfie - or should that be beak selfie? - think again.

Two brothers from Canada have posted the best selfie of the year - it’s just the two of them hanging out… with an eagle.

In the selfie, the beautiful bird has a big grin on its face, probably because the two men had just rescued it from a trap.

Michael and Neil Fletcher, from Chelmsford, Ontario, were out hunting grouse last week when they found the eagle stuck in the device.

After they rescued the animal, there was just enough time for a sneaky pic.

On Facebook, Michael wrote alongside the stunning image: “Bald eagle we set free from a trap. Quick selfie before it flew away”.

He also posted a video showing how the men freed the eagle from the trap in a snowy forest. They wrapped the animal, which had its talon caught, in a hoodie to calm it down.

“I was surprised by the size, and that it’s such a beautiful bird,” Michael told the Sudbury Star.

“When you see the eyes up close, they’re really amazing.

“It was attached to a stake and the eagle was trying to fly up, but it only had a foot of slack in the chain.

“Me and my brother just kind of held onto it, and it calmed right down.

“It didn’t really fuss or give any sign of aggression. I don’t know if it knew we were helping him, or what.”

His brother Neil then lifted the bird up and it flew off into a tree.
