UK weather: Met Office issues yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain in parts of England
Thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecast for large parts of England today - the week after sweltering conditions led to temperatures of 30C or more for seven consecutive days.
The Met Office has a yellow warning in place for thunderstorms across London and the South East, Kent, Sussex and East Anglia.
Heavy downpours could cause flooding and disruption, it is warning.
Spray and "sudden flooding" could lead to "difficult driving conditions and some road closures".
There is also a "small chance" that some communities could be cut off.
It begins at noon today and lasts until 8pm.

Further north, there is a yellow warning for heavy rain covering Manchester, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent and Nottingham.
There could be some flooding and disruption in places with spray on roads possibly making journey times longer.
It began at 1am today and lasts for 12 hours, ending at 1pm.
Saturday was provisionally the hottest day of the year so far - with a high of 33.2C (92F) recorded at London's Kew Bridge.
