Victims' families to speak at Elliot Lake Inquiry

Family members of Lucie Aylwin and Dolores Perizzolo will testify at the public inquiry in Elliot Lake today.

The two women died over a year ago, when a portion of the Algo Centre Mall caved-in.

Perizzolo's daughter and Aylwin's fiance are among those scheduled to testify on Wednesday afternoon.

Until today, the commission has focused on the events leading up to the collapse of the structure, but will now turn its attention to the rescue efforts that followed that fatal day.

The commission is expected to spend about two months investigating what was done to try and save the women.

The inquiry was established in July 2012 by the Ontario government and has been underway in the community since March.
