Victoria Day 2015 in Halifax: What's open and what's closed

Here's what's open and closed on Victoria Day (May 18, 2015) in Halifax:

Liquor and beer:

- Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation outlets will have regular hours on Victoria Day. Stores will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the following exceptions for stores located in shopping malls: Halifax Shopping Centre (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.); Mic Mac Mall (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Scotia Square (Closed).

- Propeller Brewery is open regular hours on Monday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

- Garrison Brewery will be opened regular hours on Monday (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

- Bishop's Cellar is open regular hours (10 a.m. to 10 p.m.)

Food:

- Atlantic Super Store outlets open regular hours.

- Sobeys open regular hours

Shopping malls:

- Halifax Shopping Centre: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Park Lane Mall: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

- Scotia Square Mall: Closed

- Mic Mac Mall: 9:30 am to 5 p.m.

Banks:

- All banks will be closed

Halifax Public Library:

- All branches of the Halifax Public Library will be closed on Victoria Day

Garbage, green bin and recycling collection:

- Curbside collection of garbage, organics or recyclables normally scheduled for Victoria Day will occur the Saturday before — on May 16.

- The waste processing and disposal facilities in Otter Lake, the two composting facilities and the municipal recycling plant will be closed.

- The residential household special waste depot at 20 Horseshoe Lake Dr. will be closed Saturday, May 16.

Parking:

- Parking is free at meters on Monday.

Transit services:

- Regular Metro Transit buses and ferries will operate on a Sunday holiday schedule.

Canada Post:

- All post offices will be closed. There is no collection or delivery of mail on Victoria Day.
