Video shows police dog finding hidden cash that helped convict five over Barnet murder
Video shows the moment a police dog helped discover a large amount of cash - which led to five men being convicted of murder.
Olsi Kuka, 30, was stabbed to death in a “vicious and unrelenting” attack in his flat off Whetstone High Road on May 11, 2022.
Dog handler PC Neil Dobson and a police dog called Monty were sent to search the flat following his murder.
Mr Kuka had been stabbed multiple times by a group of men who were searching for drugs and money they believed was in his property.
Video shows the moment Monty managed to find £8,000 in cash hidden in the headboard of a bed, that had not been found by the group.
A trial at the Old Bailey, heard the group of five men travelled to Mr Kuka’s flat shortly before 3am, in two Mercedes cars.
They parked outside his home before forcing entry to the flat and attacking Mr Kuka.
They then ransacked his flat, searching for drugs and money they believed he had in the property.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save him, and Mr Kuka died soon after.
A post-mortem found he had been stabbed by “at least” two knives.

Met homicide detectives used CCTV and mobile phone data to find the five men responsible.
They discovered one of the cars had travelled to Mr Kuka’s home four days before his murder, on a reconnaissance trip.
After a five-week trial at the Old Bailey that ended on Thursday, Daige Ramsey, 25, of Winchester Road, Highams Park, and Santana Thompson, 21, of Aldriche Way, Waltham Forest, were convicted of manslaughter.
Ozan Seran 28, of no fixed address pleaded guilty to manslaughter on April 2, the first day of the trial.
Bulent Bakir, 27, of Old Road, Enfield, was convicted of conspiracy to rob.
Reuben Bernard, 19, of Wootton, Northampton, was convicted of murder after a trial in June 2023.
They will be sentenced at the Old Bailey at a date that is yet to be confirmed.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Rawlinson said: "The violence used in this attack was calculated, vicious and unrelenting.
"The five men had planned to rob Olsi and were prepared to use any force necessary in order to get what they wanted.
“We are thankful for the work of our police dog Monty, who was able to find vital evidence that helped secure a successful conviction."
