English Police Find More Than £50,000 Hidden in Fireplace During Drug Dealer Arrest

Police in England released a video on July 30 showing the arrest of a drug dealer during which officers uncovered a bag with 13 bundles of cash totaling £54,650 (USD$71,340) hidden in a fireplace.

Bodycam footage shared by Kent Police shows officers raiding a house in Gillingham on March 12. During the search, officers also uncovered cocaine and marijuana, the video shows.

In a statement released online, Kent Police said Samuel Overy, age 19, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply both cocaine and marijuana and was jailed for four years and four months at Maidstone Crown Court on July 27.

The police statement said Overy admitted the cash uncovered by officers was made from selling drugs. Credit: Kent Police via Storyful
