HRW Report on 'Enforced Disappearances' in Crimea

In a new report released on October 7, Human Rights Watch (HRW) says that at least five people have been forcibly disappeared in Crimea since May 2014. According to HRW, three of the disappeared are Crimean Tatars, and two are pro-Ukraine activists.

“The disappearances are contributing to the atmosphere of fear and hostility in Crimea for anyone who is pro-Ukraine, including Crimean Tatars,” said Yulia Gorbunova, Europe and Central Asia researcher at Human Rights Watch. This video, released to accompany the report, features the testimony of Abdureshit Dzhepparov, the father of one of the disappeared. Credit: YouTube/Human Rights Watch
