Hurricane Sally Storm Surge Floods Highway in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Hurricane Sally was reported to be bringing life-threatening storm surges as it made landfall in Alabama in the early morning of September 16.

The National Hurricane Center said “historic and catastrophic flooding” was likely in "parts of northwest Florida and southern Alabama.”
