Llamas and Alpacas Cool Off in a Kiddie Pool at Nova Scotia Farm

A group of llamas and alpacas got a chance to cool off in a kiddie pool at their home on a Nova Scotia farm on July 21.

The video captured by Rick Goodwin at his hobby farm in Amherst shows the farm animals lining up and taking turns getting into the inflatable pool as a garden hose goes off. Goodwin and his wife told Storyful they decided they wanted to add alpacas to their “family” and welcomed Dora and Diego to their home. The two alpacas were later joined by six more alpacas named Leah and Tira, Jazz, Mindy, Leo, and Arthur, Goodwin said. Two llamas named Lucy and Dolly also arrived at the farm.

“We love our animals and do our best to ensure they are well-taken care of…we were experiencing a very hot day and wanted to give our “kids” a chance to cool off," said Goodwin. “We keep a kiddie pool in their pen for them to use whenever they want to have a dip in the pool.” Credit: Rick Goodwin via Storyful
