Vote for The State’s Midlands high school boys basketball player of week

It’s time to vote for The State’s high school boys basketball Player of the Week from Midlands-area high schools and games played from Jan. 22-27. Voting ends Friday at noon.

The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page on Friday afternoon.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.

Boys Player of Week nominees

Korie Corbett, Ridge View: Sophomore averaged 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the Blazers’ two wins last week.

Yasir Cromer, River Bluff: Junior averaged 20 points, six assists and five rebounds in Gators’ two games last week.

Jaydon Guess, CA Johnson: Senior averaged 11 points, eight assists and five steals in two games last week.

Treyvon Maddox, Gray Collegiate: Junior scored 22 points, had six rebounds and dished out five assists on Saturday in a win over Hebron Christian (Ga.).

Chase Reuss, Heathwood Hall: Freshman scored 14 points, had four rebounds in Heathwood’s lone game last week.

Cam Scott, Lexington: Senior and Texas signee averaged 30 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.3 assists in two wins last week.

Dylan Smith, North Central: Senior averaged 21.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, two steals and 1.6 blocks in the Knights’ three games last week.

Elton Smith, Cardinal Newman: Sophomore averaged 11 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in three wins last week.

Drew Spires, Richard Winn: Senior averaged 34.5 points, 3.5 steals, three rebounds and three assists in two wins last week.

Braysen Stockman, Ben Lippen: Sophomore averaged 23.5 points, seven rebounds in the Falcons’ two games last week.
