A new Superman movie is filming near Columbus. Here’s how to be an extra
You wanna be in a superhero movie? Now’s your chance, Columbus.
The latest installment to the Superman franchise and DC universe, Superman: Legacy will start filming in Atlanta and they are currently casting for background actors and extras.
Currently using the working title “Genesis” the film is set to begin production at Trillith Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia, soon and is James Gunn’s revitalization of the the beloved Man of Steel series.
The Macon Telegraph reports that Central Casting is looking for actors who “can portray South Asian or Caucasian for this particular part of filming and South Asians of all ages, including minors, should apply. However, the call for white actors is for those 18 years old and older.”
The newest DC film will star David Corenswet as Superman and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. While Corenswet is a relative newcomer to superhero-level fame, you may recognize him from Ryan Murphy’s The Politician on Netflix and the David Simon Max series We Own This City. The Great’s Nicholoas Hoult will play Lex Luthor and Isabela Merced will play Hawkgirl in the character’s first appearance in a major DC Universe film.
“Genesis” will “delve into the compelling narrative of Superman’s quest to reconcile his Kryptonian roots with his upbringing as Clark Kent in the quaint town of Smallville, Kansas. [He will] grapple with the challenges of upholding these virtues in a world where such values are often considered antiquated,” according to Auditions Free.

Work Dates: Tuesday, May 28, to Friday, May 31.
Location: Macon, Georgia, (Fitting in Trilith before filming is MANDATORY)
Rate: $154/12 filming + $20 May 30, $50 May 31, and $30 for a gas bump if you self-drive (May 28 and May 30).
You must be available for ALL filming dates, as well as attend one fitting before filming (dates to come later).
