Watch: Turkish Man Fries STEAK On The Pavement To Prove How Hot His City Is

This is the extraordinary moment a council worker managed to cook pork steaks on the pavement in his city during a blistering heatwave.

Tunay Urper left a baking tray outside to warm up before laying the three slabs of meat on them to cook in the sun.

After just a few seconds, he turns them over and the meat can already be seen beginning to sear.

His steak stunt, filmed in the city of Adana, Turkey, was performed in 45C temperatures - and was a reply to a similar clip filmed in the south-western city of Mugla, which showed residents frying eggs on the pavement.

Mr Urper said he wanted to prove that his city was even hotter as the rivalry between the two areas continues.

Much of southern Turkey has been subject to unseasonably hot weather in recent weeks with residents being advised to stay indoors in the middle of the day.
