Where’s the mullet? NC State football lineman Dawson Jaramillo out for season

N.C. State football fans will miss an already-famous mullet on the offensive line this fall.

The program released its first depth chart of the season on Friday, and graduate transfer tackle Dawson Jaramillo was notably absent. Jaramillo will miss the 2023 season due to an injury, athletic department spokeswoman Annabelle Myers said.

The mullet-wearing Jaramillo came to Raleigh after spending five years at Oregon. He played in 12 regular season games in 2022 before opting to transfer. Jaramillo contributed at left and right tackle to the Ducks’ O-line, which led the nation at just five sacks allowed. The Ducks finished tied for 12th in the nation for fewest tackles for loss (52.0).

In Oregon’s matchup against FCS opponent Eastern Washington, the team recorded 604 yards and a program record of 40 first downs.

The N.C. State depth chart shows the starters as Anthony Belton at left tackle, Anthony Carter Jr. at left guard, Dylan McMahon at center, Derrick Eason at right guard and Timothy McKay at right tackle.

N.C. State opens the season on the road at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against UConn.
