In their couple months of dating, Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson had gone to a family wedding, dressed up for Halloween together, and allegedly moved into the same place. But they have not gone to any red carpet event together. Tonight doesn't change that.

Cyrus and Simpson opted not to attend the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles tonight. Cyrus did update her Instagram earlier in the day though to give RuPaul support for his Vanity Fair cover:

Cyrus has no nominations this year, and she has not been tapped to announce or present, so there's no pressing reason for her to be there other than to support her dad.

This could be a big night for Billy Ray Cyrus: He is set to perform with Lil Nas X. The two will do a "Old Town Road All-Stars" rendition with BTS, Diplo, and Mason Ramsey. Billy Ray has three Grammy nominations with Lil Nas X for "Old Town Road": Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Music Video.

His daughter Miley spent the last part of 2019 recording from surgery on her vocal cords. She went silent for weeks to allow them to recover. A source told People that she was planning to make her career comeback in the new year. "[She is] doing great and will be back and better than ever early next year," the source said.

Cyrus has since announced she'll be playing multiple festivals this spring and summer, including Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Bottlerock. She's back to singing too: Cyrus first shared footage of herself after surgery when she was at the Happy Hippie Foundation's holiday party in mid-December.
