Woman in critical condition after northeast parking lot hit-and-run

A woman is in critical life-threatening condition after a hit and run in a northeast parking lot.

Around noon, a driver hit the woman, pinning her between his vehicle and another in the parking lot of the Dollar and Gift Bazaar on the 200 block of Saddletown Cir. Police say the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was trapped under the front right wheel of the vehicle.

The driver then ran away on foot.

A witness says the woman was freed by bystanders who lifted the vehicle off of her. She was then rushed to Foothills Hospital.

Sgt. Colin Foster, with the police service's collision reconstruction unit, said that based on the position of the vehicles, the incident may be the result of a parking altercation. Foster says police have CCTV footage and are looking for an East-Indian male, believed to be around 18 years of age.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
