Durham police are searching for a man after a woman was found dead in her Oshawa home on Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the home around 7 a.m. at Rideau Street and Saguenay Avenue for a wellness check, according to a news release on Tuesday.

Officers breached the door and located the woman inside, said Const. Nicholas Gluckstein. The cause of death has not yet been determined, he added.

Police are looking for a 31-year-old man who they say is associated with the woman and her residence. The man is not considered a suspect.

Police haven't elaborated on the relationship between the man and the woman, saying the investigation is still in its early stages.

"We are concerned for his well-being and we definitely want him to come forward to our investigators," Gluckstein said.

Those with information are asked to contact investigators or leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers.
