Woodworking Program at Swan Hills School Receives Generous Donation

The woodworking program at Swan Hills School received a significant boost on April 12th, thanks to a generous donation of over $3,000 worth of lumber from Blueridge Lumber. This donation, surpassing the program's request, was coordinated by Blueridge Lumber representatives Hardeep Khun-Khun and Colleen Khun-Khun, who were enthusiastic about bolstering the school's educational initiatives.

The donation would not have been possible without the help of several community members. Students Corvin Hughes and Owen Sound assisted in collecting the lumber, while Fred and Heidi Moes of Freddie Fenders Auto Worx lent their trailer to transport the materials. Swan Hills School principal Sherry Pfannmuller also played a crucial role in arranging for Kent Hooey, who leads the woodworking program at the school, to have the time to pick up the donated lumber.

The woodworking program at Swan Hills School provides students with valuable hands-on experience and teaches them valuable skills that they can carry with them into their future endeavours. Thanks to Blueridge Lumber's generosity and the community's support, the program can continue to thrive and teach students these valuable skills.
