York Region deal with pair of asses

York Regional Police are used to dealing with badasses on the road, but not like the two they came face-to-face with Friday.

Const. Andy Pattenden told CBC News that two officers encountered two donkeys hanging around in a parking lot near a road in Vaughan Friday.

Pattenden says police began phoning all the farms in the area to enquire if anyone's asses had gone AWOL. While the two officers waited, they received a call from a farmer and corralled the donkeys while the farmer came to take them home.

Pattenden says it's not uncommon for police in York Region to come across cows and horses on the road because of the rare urban and rural mix in the region.
