Puerto Rican star Young Miko is switching things up for summer 2024, ditching her trademark blonde hair in favor of a new red 'do.

If you have been following Young Miko for a while, then you know her blonde hair has become as much a part of her visual identity as her piercings and tattoos, but she's not playing it safe for the season ahead and has debuted what's perhaps her second biggest hair transformation to date. (Before fully embracing the blonde lie in 2023, the star used to rock light brunette hair so that one still takes the cake.)

On June 10, 2024, Young Miko took to her main Instagram feed to share her new look with fans, posing in a series of sunkissed pictures where her new red hair shines brightly. Gone are her long icy blonde strands, and in their place, a red auburn 'do with face-framing curtain bangs. Young Miko complemented the look with a soft, peachy blush and a pretty pink lip, which made the new red hue (and her blue eyes) pop even more.

Red hair has been trending among celebrities for a minute. With her new 'do, Young Miko joins the likes of TWICE's Nayeon and Dua Lipa in embracing the redhead life. If the singer's look is giving you the courage you need to book your next hair appointment, make sure to do your research before you commit because not all reds are created equally.

Young Miko's red hair, much like Dua Lipa's and Nayeon's, is a warm strawberry shade that, while embracing the crimson, falls on the more natural brunette side of red. However, more orangey copper tones are also on the rise. If you want to make a statement, ZEROBASEONE's Ricky and Megan Fox have also made the case for bright cherry reds that almost feel out of this world. A warning for the wise, though: be ready to commit to the upkeep.
