Police locate victim, 2 suspects after alleged abduction in Barrie

Police have arrested two people who allegedly abducted a girl at gunpoint on a street in downtown Barrie, Ont., and forced her into a vehicle.

Authorities say the victim is safe and the two suspects are in custody.



The alleged incident happened Saturday morning in front of witnesses near Dunlop Street East and Owen Street in downtown Barrie, according to Const. Angie Butler with Barrie police.

She told CBC News the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and ordered her into the vehicle.

"What [witnesses] saw was very concerning," Butler said.

When asked about the suspects, Butler said: "Right now, unfortunately, we don't know much," but added the duo were apprehended with the firearm.
