Artist builds London out of cardboard

An image of London, England, with Big Ben towering over the city and moonlight shining down, has wowed the public for an unusual reason.

A British artist built the tiny replica using nothing but cardboard boxes and glue, according to Express. Chris Gilmour built London in two days and then, for good measure, he built Paris and Berlin, too, complete with the Eiffel Tower and Brandenburg Gate.

The cardboard London, which measures 40 foot wide, is featured in a Bankers Box commercial with a time-lapse video of the project's assembly. The Big Ben featured measures eight feet, according to Express. At the end, a tiny cardboard tour bus passes over the bridge.

Gilmour is often described as a cardboard artist, because he has designed many sculptures using these basic materials. His favourite Christmas present as a child was probably the box in which his gift was wrapped.

His past work has included sculptures of cars, motorcycles and even a dentist's chair, with details so intricate they almost look like wood carvings.

The cardboard cities project is titled You can build anything when you put your mind to it. Well, given an unlimited supply of cardboard, artistic talent and perhaps a small dose of crazy, yes.
