Bobby Tufts, aged 4, re-elected as mayor in Dorset, Minn.

The charisma of Robert Tufts, the four-year-old mayor of Dorset, Minnesota, has won the little leader his seat once again this weekend in a race that saw him beat a lizard for the title.

Associated Press reports Bobby Tufts charmed the electorate with fishing stories and his love for ice cream. Anyone can vote repeatedly in this election, which takes place at the Taste of Dorset Festival each year, by paying $1 and writing any name they like on the ballot.

Dorset, with a population of 22 to 28, depending on who's in town, has no formal city government — but its preschool-aged mayor has his priorities straight. Bobby's mother told the Associated Press he wanted to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, get the tourist town a new welcome sign and host a snowshoe scavenger hunt this winter.

Tufts was first elected at last year's festival and he's been greeting visitors with a smile and a fedora since. This spring he told reporters he had, like, one girlfriend, and he was probably a better fisherman than his dad.

Any mayor might envy Bobby's endless supplies of energy: He smiled for cameras all weekend during the final hours of his mayoral campaign.

WCCO reported Bobby's biggest competitor this year was a lizard.
