Must-See Videos of the Week – Sept. 7

Hopefully this band didn't cost the wedding too much money. Sounds a bit off! Warning, sound may be loud!

This week’s selection of must-see videos has made me feel like I wasted my potential as a world-class musician. Back in middle school, I used to play the flute, and a (potentially fake) video shows us that having flute skills can be a lifesaver. And if I had become a stellar musician, I could’ve achieved YouTube fame like the teenage prodigy featured below. But regardless of how my musical career panned out, I think I’m just happy I’m not featured as the worst wedding singer ever, as seen in our first clip this week.

Wedding band fail

There’s always something bound to go wrong on your wedding day. You can at least aim to have a better musical experience by not hiring this band. YouTube user TheUforiaFilms, who posted the video, wrote that this was a band at a real wedding. I’m really, really hoping the vocalist is actually the best man having a laugh after a few drinks.

How to make a bear go to sleep

Forget horse whisperers and snake charmers, this flutist has the amazing ability to lull a bear to sleep using only a soothing melody. According to the YouTube user, the video is indeed real (despite some skepticism), and features a bear who was in hibernation mode behind Pinecone Lodge in the U.S. Watch and judge for yourself if this video is the real deal. Either way, I wouldn’t suggest trying it for yourself.

Cute little monkey eating soup

Whether it was Darwin, the IKEA monkey, or Justin Bieber’s now-German pet, I never got the appeal of a pet primate – until I saw this little guy. Someone in Russia has put this little guy in a Hawaiian shirt and served him a warm bowl of soup. The monkey appears to be quite content. Who wouldn’t want someone to share a pot of soup with at the end of a cold winter’s day?

Driver speeds down highway without tires

Tires? Where we’re going, we don’t need tires.

At least, that’s what I imagine this driver said to his wife before heading out the door. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to be in Doc’s flying car, and should probably consider not driving on rims. On a highway.

Amazing kid drummer shows off skills

At only 14 years old, young drummer Takuto Yamachika has some incredible talent. The Japanese junior high student clearly has a passion for his art, and it will be exciting to see where he takes it as he grows up. Rock on, Takuto!
