Canadian soldier rolls up the rim, wins a car

Eric Wilson, a member of the Canadian Forces, didn't believe what he was reading when he "rolled up the rim" last month at the CFB Kingston Tim Hortons location. The rim read: "Win/Gagnez - Camry."

"I had to roll up the rim three times just to make sure I wasn't going completely out of my mind," Wilson told QMI Agency.

Sure enough, he won the grand prize in Tim Hortons' contest: a Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE.

Shocked, he didn't know what to do next. He approached the supervisor:

"I said to her, 'I know how to deal with a coffee, I know how to deal with a free doughnut, what do I do with this?' She just got wide-eyed and said, 'I'll be right back!' The actual manager came out, and they were all shocked," Wilson said.

Wilson then went home to tell his wife, who "freaked out a little bit."

The Wilsons will receive the new car this Thursday.

Of the 40 cars available to be won this year, 35 have now been claimed.

"Having a grand prize winner at our restaurant is exciting for our guests, team members and the community," said Sherri Agnew, Tim Hortons restaurant owner. "Our guests are happy when they win a doughnut or a coffee, so you can imagine how thrilling it is when someone rolls up the rim and realizes they've won a new vehicle."
