New details emerge in the Prince Albert manslaughter trial of Tasia Natewayes

Court documents are shedding new light on the events surrounding the death of a Prince Albert man.

Tasia Natewayes, 29, is accused of manslaughter in the death of 18-year-old Dakota Nayneecassum. She is the only person out of six charged in his death to plead not guilty. That means it's only now that the details are coming out.

According to an agreed statement of facts, Natewayes was with her boyfriend, Kyle Goodrich, at the Shopper's Drug Mart at the South Hill Mall in September 2012.

Outside of the store, she ran into a man named Cody Vandale, who had an ongoing dispute with Goodrich over a drug transaction.

Vandale told Natewayes to go inside the store and tell Goodrich he would be waiting for him in the parking lot. When Natewayes told Goodrich what was happening, he called a couple of friends to come help him.

Meanwhile, Vandale's common-law partner convinced him not to fight, so they left.

But when Goodrich's friends arrived, he told Tasia Natewayes to drive them to a residence where they picked up two more people. Natewayes says that's when she noticed someone was bringing a baseball bat along.

Natewayes then drove them to Vandale's house. The five passengers went inside and attacked Vandale. He received cuts on his neck and arm.

Dakota Nayneecassum was in the house as well. He had nothing to do with the initial incident but was also attacked in the fight. He died from a stab wound that pierced his heart and lung.

Tasia Natewayes's trial continues in Prince Albert this week.
