Dirt Skirt draws Winnipeg women cyclers to trails
Dozens of women grabbed their bikes and hit the dirt trails in Winnipeg last night.
They were taking part in Dirt Skirt, a race series designed to encourage women to cycle competitively.
Many women often say they're nervous showing up at a race in the male-dominated sport, which is why race organizer Moni Robertson began the women-only cycling series last year.
"We're filling that gap of getting other women interested in the sport of cycling and pushing themselves and challenging themselves with something new," she said.
